Learning at Magen David Academy is an explorative and creative process in which students communicate, connect, and interact with their surroundings in a fun, engaging manner in order to develop skills, values, and identity to face the challenges of their world and become responsible citizens of their community.
Our curriculum is carefully designed to align learning experiences to our mission, in order to provide our students not only for academic success, but success in work and home life. Our rich Judaic and international programming focuses on 21st Century Skills: Creativity, Collaboration, Communication, Critical Thinking and Citizenship.
High academic standards are achieved through the implementation of units of work collaboratively created by our teacher teams based on international benchmarks. Student progress is monitored and documented in order to inform decision-making and accommodate instruction to students’ learning and emotional needs.
Instruction and classroom management is based on the concepts of Responsive Classroom and Restorative practices. Through engaging academics, positive community, effective management, and developmental awareness teachers work to ensure that all students develop strong academic and social skills.
Our international curriculum includes Literacy, Religious Studies, Math, Science, Social Studies, Music, Art, PE, Hebrew, and Spanish. The values of Judaism are woven through all our school subjects. MDA is a Zionist school and works to ensure that students have a strong Jewish identity and a love for the State of Israel.
MDA offers an English immersion program based on the belief that children are often able to learn a foreign language with ease if they begin at an early age.
Our primary program focuses on Language Arts (reading, writing, listening, speaking), Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Judaic Studies and Hebrew Language.
MDA’s secondary program is a balance of rigorous academics and religious studies that prepare students for college and beyond.
