PTA’s mission is to support MDA through fundraisers and activities while fostering a positive climate for the school community (students and staff). Our main goal for the year was to act as goodwill ambassadors of MDA and project a strong, unified front.
The 2018/2019 school year brought along many changes. For PTA, it was the first year operating under a new structure. At the end of June 2018, we elected a Board of Directors to represent all PTA members and to spearhead the annual activities.

All of our fundraising efforts came to fruition when we were able to donate the money raised throughout the year towards remodeling both cafeterias hence helping to give our school a new and fresh look.
We invite everyone to contribute their grain of wisdom and join us in this extraordinary mission to keep growing and improving our MDA community.

We continued the path of past traditions and developed new ones.
Starting the year on a sweet note we delivered welcome baskets to new MDA families.
Several times along the year we hosted breakfasts and coffee hours as tokens of appreciation to our teachers and staff, MDA’s backbone.
Many of our activities were dedicated to our students. We love watching the twinkle in their eyes while receiving popsicles and treats on various occasions to brighten their days.
To encourage student participation in community events PTA offered them an extra special breakfast the last day of selichot.
Rosh HaShana is a time for giving for PTA, so we delivered calendars to the MDA family marking all important Jewish and school dates to wish all of our MDA families a happy, healthy, and especially an organized school year.
PTA moms worked hard to put together the 1st MDA Hanuka fair on school grounds where all students, teachers, and staff celebrated the festival of lights with a fun filled day of activities.
We held three fund raising activities as part of our commitment to the school’s improvement plan.
Our first fundraiser was an orchid sale inspired in the tradition of sending joy and preparing our homes for the high holidays.
Our second activity was the Mishloaj Manot Purim fundraiser. This was the 8th year of this proud MDA tradition where every single family and staff member received a Purim basket, observing the mitzvah of bringing our MDA family closer.
Last but not least, our biggest event was the Family Rally. This fun activity brought together all of MDA’s community and helped engrave school spirit, comradery, and love towards our institution.
