MDA’s Secondary school comprises both the Middle and High schools. Here we make every effort to achieve academic excellence in a challenging, yet flexible environment in order to prepare students for higher education at the universities of their choice as well as the international job market.
The Middle School (Grades 6-8) builds upon the foundation established in Primary School by continuing to promote the academic, social, and emotional development of its students. Students move from a single-teacher classroom structure to a multi-classroom, multi-teacher model. Middle School is an important period of transition for students. We strive to help our Middle School students learn to make key connections as part of their intellectual growth and thus pave the way for successful high school and college careers.
High School students (Grades 9-12) immerse themselves in the realm of ideas and take meaningful action in the world around them. The educational experience is tailored to the individual. MDA offers students the opportunity to receive at least one of three academic high school diplomas – the Local Ministry of Education’s (MEDUCA) Science Diploma, the U.S Cognia/AdvancED Diploma, and the AP Capstone Diploma – the latter giving students an opportunity to demonstrate excellence through specialized work in research and thesis writing. Students also challenge themselves through AP Classes, dual enrollment classes at local universities, as well as STEAM course work. In and out of class, students enjoy positive relationships with faculty and peers. Self-discovery and community engagement flourish through athletics, elective courses such as photography, robotics and art, Student Council (STUCO) involvement, and community projects. Our High Schools students are well rounded, well grounded, and empowered to pursue their passions and contribute to their future communities.
